Youth and institutions together for the inclusion of migrants in BiH

29 October 2025

It is important to us that what we do and believe in does not remain only within our teams. By sharing our values and approach with others, we expand the circle of people who, together with us, want to build a society where help is accessible and understanding and support are part of everyday life.

Together on the Move – Youth for Inclusion and Empathy

In October, we organized a workshop titled “Together on the Move,” which brought together high school students from Bihać to reflect on the experiences of people on the move and the importance of inclusion.

The aim of the workshop was to encourage young people to become advocates of empathy and solidarity within their communities. During the workshop, our volunteers shared their experiences through discussions and activities with the students, inspiring them to contribute to positive change through volunteering and everyday acts of kindness.

The workshop concluded with a series of inspiring ideas and suggestions from young participants on how their actions can promote greater inclusion and support for people on the move in their communities.

Strengthening cooperation – Practical approaches to the integration of migrants in BiH

We organized a workshop titled “Practical Approaches to the Integration of Migrants in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” aimed at strengthening the capacities of all actors involved in working with people on the move.

The workshop brought together representatives of local institutions, UN agencies, and civil society organizations engaged in integration processes. The meeting served as an opportunity to exchange experiences, learn from examples of good practice, and strengthen cooperation among key actors working with migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. The guest lecturer, Head of the IOM Sub-office, presented successful models of integration from other countries and offered suggestions on how they could be adapted to the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

One of the important conclusions of the workshop was the formation of a Working Group in the Una-Sana Canton, which will focus on issues related to the integration of migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. In the coming period, we will continue with activities that connect communities and promote a culture of acceptance. Ahead of us are new training sessions, volunteer initiatives, and events that remind us that every act of care can change someone’s day, and sometimes even their life.
